Animation provides the basis for contemporary moving image practices. Both BA (Hons) and MA courses nurture creative talent and technical ability to produce professional standard skills development. Our production-based studio environment fosters creativity and collaboration. Course alumni at Pixar, ILM and Aardman are a testament to the effectiveness of the course curriculum and its production environment.

Anna & Nine Coo Five
|
Both Anna & Nine Coo Five were nominated for Best Student Animation at the regional Southern Royal Television Society Awards 2019. The team behind Anna took home the award at the cermony in Winchester.

LIV screening at 12th British Short Film Festival in Berlin |
Liv has been selected for screening at the 12th British Shorts Film Festival in Berlin, Germany. Taking place from the 17th-23rd January 2019, making Liv our first graduate animation to be screened in 2019. Liv will screen at City Kino Wedding at 8.00 pm on January 18th alongside an exciting mix of drama, fantasy, animation, documentary, experimental films and comedy shorts.

Detective Avery Ebson, Armada, Star Bard, Save and Restore and Nine Coo Five have been selected for the 1st edition of Guwahati International Children Film Festival. The films will be screen as part of the ‘World Cinema’ programme. The free film festival takes place in Guwahata, Assam in North East India from the 19th - 21st of January 2019.

London International
Animation Festival
Stopmotion production 'Anna' has been selected to be screened in competition in the British Showcase at LIAF 2018, the UK’s largest international animation festival. 'Anna' was selected out of more than 2,600 films viewed by the LIAF programmers.

Channel 4's Random Acts
Sookie Lalla’s three-minute video, 'Residue', was commissioned by Random Acts, Channel 4’s short film strand dedicated to the arts and funded by the Arts Council. According to Channel 4, Residue “fuses film, animation and dance to explore how trauma can cause a person to dissociate from the real world”.

LIV & VIDA to screen at
Anima Mundi Animation Festival
'VIDA' will be screened in the Panorama programme, while 'LIV' will take part in the Animation Course/Student programme. The annual festival takes place in various Brazillian cities across 2018. Firstly, in Rio de Janeiro from 24th to 29th July, and then in São Paulo from 1st to 5th August. In addition, Anima Mundi will also hold a show in Brasilia, where part of the programme presented at Anima Mundi will be shown.

'The Queens’ Tale' was screened as part of the ‘Maxi’ competition to a succession of audiences in the Brazilian cities of Rio de Janeiro, São Luís and São Paulo.

Two graduation films, 'LIV' and 'VIDA', from the BA (Hons) Animation Production course were nominated for the Best Student Animation at the February Southern Royal Television Society Awards ceremony. 'Liv' took home the prize.
